A man hit and killed by a car in North Highlands as he crossed Watt Avenue in his wheelchair has been identified by coroner’s deputies.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s website identifies him as 58-year-old Mark Alan Stout. No city of residence was provided.
The California Highway Patrol said that Stout was traveling in his wheelchair across Watt Avenue near Myrtle Avenue outside of a crosswalk at about 3:45 a.m. Thursday.
Stout had traveled across several lanes on Watt when he was struck by the southbound car on the darkened road. Stout, who was dressed in dark clothing, died at the scene.
