Folsom Boulevard fire results in $750K worth of damage
An abandoned building caught fire Wednesday morning on Folsom Boulevard, leading to about $750,000 worth of damage before it was extinguished.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel responded to a call about10:30 a.m. to find flames shooting through the roof of 9499 Folsom Blvd. next to Progressive Faith Ministries International.
After fighting the exterior fire for 10 minutes, firefighters spent five more minutes quenching flames inside the structure, said Chris Vestal, fire district spokesman.
Assistant Chief Tyler Wagaman estimated about $750,000 worth of damage had been done to the 4,000-square foot building. No one was injured.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
