Woman arrested in Roseville accused of prostitution, using teen as pimp
A 34-year-old woman is in Placer County Jail accused of prostitution and a 17-year-old boy is in juvenile hall accused of acting as her pimp.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, a Roseville police officer spotted a vehicle being driven with its headlights off on Taylor Road near East Roseville Parkway, according to Roseville police spokeswoman DeeDee Gunther. The officer stopped the car and contacted the 17-year-old unlicensed driver and his passenger, Vanessa Gumataotao of Sacramento.
After further investigation, Gumataotao was arrested on suspicion of prostitution and unlawful possession of prescription narcotics, as well as child abuse and endangerment for allegedly using the 17-year-old as her pimp.
The teenage boy as arrested on suspicion of pimping and driving without a license.
Gunther said she could not comment on whether Gumataotao and the teenager were related.
Gumataotao is being held in Placer County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.
