Natomas homicide victim identified by coroner

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man killed last week at a north Natomas apartment complex.

Marcus A. Gonzalez, 26, died from one shot to the torso, according to Sacramento police. Police received a call at 8:22 a.m. Friday about the shooting. Officers responded to the 1800 block of Club Center Drive, where they found Gonzalez wounded.

Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police searched for two people who were in an older model, powder-blue minivan.

Investigators believe that the shooter knew the dead man. No arrests have been announced.
