Ex-Cake drummer sentenced for child molestation

A former drummer for the Sacramento-based rock group Cake was sentenced Tuesday in Los Angeles County to a long sentence in state prison for molesting a young girl.

Peter Ivan McNeal, 48, was given a sentence of 15 years to life for molesting a three-year-old girl in 2009. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

In March 2013, a jury found McNeal guilty of one count of oral copulation. Deputy District Attorney Elena Abramson said McNeal molested the girl on Thanksgiving five years ago while he was a guest at a Laurel Canyon home.
