Sacramento sheriff’s deputies search Rio Linda home for suspected killer

Sacramento sheriff’s deputies searched a Rio Linda home on Monday night for a man suspected in his girlfriend’s shooting death over the weekend in rural Yuba County.

The heavily armed deputies used robots to enter the home near Ninth Avenue and Oak Lane starting at about 6 p.m. and eventually determined no one was home.

Jonnyrae Witt, 25, of Rio Linda is suspected of killing his girlfriend, Leslie Cramblit, 31, also of Rio Linda, early Sunday morning in Rackerby, about 25 miles northeast of Yuba City, Yuba County officials told local media.

Sacramento authorities executed search and arrest warrants for Witt at the request of Yuba authorities.

“They asked for our tactical team’s assistance,” said Sacramento sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Tony Turnbull.
