One man identified in fatal shooting outside south Sacramento restaurant
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified one of two men killed early Friday in a south Sacramento shooting.
Xang Thao, 32, died shortly after the 1:15 a.m. shooting outside Vientiane Cafe in the 7900 block of Florin Road. The name of the second victim has not been released.
Two other people were injured in the incident, which followed a physical altercation that started inside the cafe, said Deputy Tony Turnbull, a spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
Another man brought to the hospital suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other wounded man is expected to survive, Turnbull said. Detectives are investigating whether the shooting is gang-related.
