A 19-year-old Citrus Heights man has been arrested in the Dec. 23 stabbing death of a man in North Highlands.
Harley Edward Stratton was arrested Wednesday and booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of murder in the death of 39-year-old Jason Westmoreland, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department news release.
A friend found Westmoreland about 9:15 p.m. Dec. 23 at the corner of Karen Lane and Canary Drive, just east of Watt Avenue. Sheriff’s officials said he had been stabbed in the torso at least once. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives believe Stratton and Westmoreland did not know each other and became involved in a fight in which Westmoreland was stabbed.
Stratton is being held without bail.
