1 hurt as hot-air balloon goes down in Yolo County
One person was injured Saturday morning after a hot-air balloon toppled over during takeoff at the Yolo County Airport.
Yolo County Deputy Sheriff Robert Harbaugh said the incident happened just before 8:30 a.m.
“They were loading the balloon for takeoff,” he said, “and a strong gust of wind knocked them over.”
Twenty people were in the balloon. One person, who was not identified, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, Harbaugh said. Balloons Over the Valley was conducting the flight.
