Victim identified in Foothill Farms killing
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the young man shot in broad daylight Tuesday along a Foothill Farms area street.
He was identified as Andre Alexander McGaugh, 20, of Sacramento. Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were sent the 4900 block of Venuto Way, north of Madison Avenue between College Oak Drive and Walnut Avenue, about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Once there, deputies found McGaugh suffering from a gunshot in the upper torso in the front yard of a residence. Deputies began life-saving measures, and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District workers took him to a hospital.
McGaugh was pronounced dead at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday.
The man who shot McGaugh drove away in a white compact car. It is unclear if the man left the car before shooting McGaugh or fired shots from the car, according to a Sheriff’s Department press release.
Motive for the killing is not yet known.
