Truck driver killed in wreck along I-80 was from West Sacramento
A truck driver died early Thursday when his big rig crashed into a tree along Interstate 80 in Davis.
The big rig was eastbound on I-80 near Richards Boulevard about 5 a.m. at an estimated 65 mph when the truck left the roadway and hit a large tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers continue to investigate why the rig left the roadway.
The 55-year-old driver of the truck, a West Sacramento resident, died at the scene. The Yolo County Coroner’s Office has not identified the man.
