Coroner identifies Elk Grove man found shot in car
A man found shot to death in a car near a south Sacramento County park has been identified by the coroner.
Sacramento County Coroner Kimberly Gin said the man was Benjamin Ward, 28, of Elk Grove.
Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting and found Ward inside a vehicle in the 8300 block of Fintown Court near Vintage Park Drive about 11 p.m. Saturday. Ward, who suffered a head injury, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have yet to identify a suspect or determine what led to the shooting, according to a Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
