LA-based Golden Road Brewery to open pub in midtown
Los Angeles-based Golden Road Brewing has submitted plans to the city of Sacramento to build a beer garden and restaurant in midtown.
The brewpub would replace the long-vacant City Suds laundromat building at the corner of 19th and L streets. It would include a “small specialty batch experimental brewery” and outdoor dining, according to an application filed with the city. A kitchen would be “optimized to serve farm-to-fork gourmet food.”
The City Suds building would be demolished to make way for the brew pub. Golden Road is leasing the property, according to the application.
“Our intent is to take the existing property that is in need of revitalization and turn it into an outdoor beer garden that provides customers a safe drinking establishment with recreational opportunities,” the applicants wrote to the city.
Golden Road is Los Angeles’ largest craft brewery. It was sold last year to Anheuser-Busch InBev.
