Service resumes on light-rail lines following disruption
Light-rail service on Sacramento Regional Transit’s Blue and Gold has resumed following a disruption that began mid-afternoon and continued into commute hours.
Alane Masui, RT spokeswoman, said a wheel of a light-rail car had slipped off the track causing the initial disruption.
Regional Transit officials announced about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday that buses would carry riders between stations on the affected lines. Service resumed about 5:30 p.m. on the Blue Line, but RT reported that a bus bridge was operating between Sacramento Valley and and University/65th Street stations on the Gold Line.
The Gold Line was back in service about 6:20 p.m. RT reported that the disruption was caused by a switch malfunction at 13th Street and an overhead wire issue at Stockton Boulevard.
