Assisting Gov. Jerry Brown with this year’s Capitol Christmas tree lighting is 9-year-old Kimie Metcalf of Chino, a leukemia survivor who has cerebral palsy. Before the ceremony, she visited with lawmakers to discuss funding for the California Department of Developmental Services and the ambassadorship to France.
