Interactive: See C-section rates at every California hospital
By Phillip Reese
About three of every 10 births in California are C-Sections, a rate that is stabalizing after years of growth. C-Sections, while often necessary, are more expensive than vaginal deliveries and require longer recoveries. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recently published guidelines aimed at reducing C-Section rates.
Some California hospitals perform C-Sections much more often than others. This database lets you see rates at hospitals near your home. Click a hospital name to see C-Section trends.
