Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey – a game-by-game look at a record-breaking season
Stanford sophomore Christian McCaffrey capped his season with an epic performance in Friday’s Rose Bowl, a 45-16 victory over Iowa. He had a Rose Bowl record 368 total yards, and was the first player in the game’s 102-year history with a least 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards.

Sept. 5: In a 16-6 loss to Northwestern, he rushes for 66 yards, has five catches for 23 yards, returns for kicks for 90 yards and a punt for minus-8 yards
Sept. 12: In a 31-7 win over Central Florida, he rushes for 58 yards, catches four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown, returns a kick for 17 yards and two punts for 32 yards.
Sept. 19: In a 41-31 win over USC, he rushes for 115 yards, catches three passes for 37 yards, and returns five kicks for 97 yards.
Sept. 25: In a 42-24 win over Oregon State, he rushes for 206 yards, catches one pass for 38 yards, returns two kicks for 56 yards and one punt for three yards.
Oct. 3: In a 55-17 win over Arizona, he rushes for 156 yards and a touchdown, catches two passes for 11 yards, returns two kicks for 98 yards and four punts for minus-5 yards.

Nov. 7: In a 42-10 win over Colorado, he rushes for 147 yards, catches three passes for 15 yards, completes one pass for 28 yards, returns two kicks for 46 yards and one punt for 12 yards.
Nov. 14: In a 38-36 loss to Oregon, he rushes for 147 yards and a touchdown, catches five passes for 42 yards, returns two kicks for 60 yards and a punt for minus-5 yards.
Nov. 21: In a 35-22 win over Cal, he rushes for 192 yards, catches one pass for 49 yards and a touchdown, and returns three kicks for 148 yards.
Nov. 28: In a 38-36 win over Notre Dame, he rushes for 94 yards, catches three passes for 19 yards, returns five kicks for 109 yards and one punt for six.
Dec. 5: In a 41-22 Pacific-12 Conference championship game win over USC, he rushes for 207 yards and a touchdown, catches four passes for 105 yards and a touchdown, completes one pass for 11 yards and a touchdown, returns five kicks for 120 yards and two punts for 29 yards.
Friday, Jan. 1: In a 45-16 Rose Bowl win over Iowa, he rushes for 172 yards, catches four passes for 105 yards and a touchdown, returns one kickoff 28 yards and one punt 63 yards for a touchdown.
