49ers injuries: Buckner day-to-day with an ankle injury, Eric Reid back in action
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner is listed as day-to-day after going down in practice Wednesday with a left ankle injury. Buckner was on the ground for several minutes before getting to his feet and walking gingerly on his own.
Chris Jones filled in at defensive tackle -- also called the three technique -- on base downs while rookie Solomon Thomas entered with the first-team unit on nickel downs.
Another would-be starter with an ankle injury, safety Eric Reid, is not listed on the team’s pre-practice report. He went through individual drills Wednesday but was held out of team sessions. He appears to be cleared for a full practice today.
Four players -- NaVorro Bowman, Joe Staley, Pierre Garcon and Jeremy Zuttah -- are getting so-called “veteran days” today and will not practice.
Others:
OL JP Flynn (knee), out
CB Zach Franklin (ankle), out
LB Eli Harold (concussion), out
TE George Kittle (hamstring), individual drills
CB Keith Reaser (knee), individual drills
S Jaquiski Tartt (ribs), out (day-today)
