With the score tied in the top of the ninth inning, River Cats reliever Cody Hall gave up three runs to the Memphis Redbirds and Sacramento could only answer with one, losing 8-6 on Friday night at Raley Field.
Hector Sanchez hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth, and Adam Duvall hit a two-run homer in the first inning, his 12th of the season, for the River Cats. Sanchez and Duvall each had two hits and two RBIs.
Sacramento starting pitcher Kevin Correia helped his cause with his first homer of the season in the fifth inning. Correia allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits and three walks. He struck out four. Hall (1-1) gave up two hits and two walks.
Memphis had four players with two hits.
