Tacoma snaps River Cats’ winning streak with rout
The River Cats’ first batter on Sunday, Ehire Adrianza, homered off Tacoma’s Justin Germano.
It was downhill from there for Sacramento in an 8-1 loss at Raley Field, ending the Cats’ winning streak at five games.
Germano (5-2) allowed one run and two hits in six innings, lowering his ERA to 2.61. He struck out four and walked one.
Sacramento collected only one more hit off two Tacoma relievers.
River Cats starter Nik Turley (1-2) lasted only two innings. He surrendered seven runs on six hits, including a two-run homer by Patrick Kivlehan in the second inning.
Kivlehan added a sacrifice fly in the third.
