River Cats waste chances in loss to Reno

The River Cats wasted several scoring opportunities in a 2-1 loss to the host Reno Aces in the first game of a rain-delayed doubleheader Tuesday night.

Sacramento stranded 10 runners and went 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position in the seven-inning game.

The River Cats scored in the seventh when Xavier Avery and Darren Ford led off with singles and Carlos Triunfel drove in Avery with a grounder to shortstop. But Adam Duvall popped out and Kevin Frandsen grounded out to end the game.

Sacramento starter Tommy Hanson took the loss, allowing seven hits and two runs in four innings.
