45-year-old Sacramento woman killed in solo crash on Elk Grove Boulevard, police say

A one-car crash killed a woman and closed a stretch of Elk Grove Boulevard for several hours early Friday in Elk Grove.

Police responded to a sedan that had crashed into a tree on the westbound side of Elk Grove Boulevard shortly after 3 a.m.

The vehicle’s driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, while the passenger, a 45-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene just east of Ginther Drive, the Elk Grove Police Department said in social media posts. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Lashona McIntosh of Sacramento.

The roadway was closed in both directions between Bruceville Road and Wymark Drive for several hours as authorities investigated the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
