Man, 37, and woman, 25, fatally struck by train in Elk Grove identified by coroner
A man and woman fatally struck by a train early Saturday morning while walking in Elk Grove have been identified by the coroner.
Duane Love, 37, of Elk Grove, and Mariah Gonzales, 25, of Sacramento, were hit by a train near Elk Grove Boulevard and Railroad Street around 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
”The incident remains under investigation as we coordinate with Elk Grove PD,” Union Pacific spokeswoman Kristen South said in an emailed response Monday morning. “No additional details are available.”
