A new Macy’s location is expected to land at an Elk Grove shopping center in the near future.

Macy’s possible new Elk Grove location, first reported by the Sacramento Business Journal, would be at the Laguna Crossroads Shopping Center located between Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville Road.

According to Gallelli Real Estate, which is the landlord of the shopping center, the anticipated department store will be in a 31,000-square-foot space located at 7261 Laguna Blvd. The space was formerly occupied by Buy Buy Baby, located next to Bob’s Discount Furniture and Comcast Xfinity store.

Gallelli added Macy’s to its plans in a leasing brochure that was updated earlier this month, according to the Roseville-based property management company’s website.

In an email to The Sacramento Bee, a Macy’s spokesperson declined to comment on whether the chain is coming to Elk Grove.

“We are not able to comment on any specific plans at this time. We will share details as they are available.”

The Laguna Crossroads Shopping Center features shopping and dining options including Target, Bath and Body Works, Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, Shabu Shack, Ulta, Total Wine and more.

According to Gallelli Real Estate, the Laguna Crossroads shopping center is the top retail intersection in Elk Grove and can see more than 6 million visits per year.

Macy’s was founded in 1858 and has since become one of the largest department store chains in the U.S.
