It’s Girl Scout cookie season, and a brewery in Elk Grove just added the sweet treats to its menu for the rest of the month.

Dust Bowl Brewing Co. Old Town Tap House is pairing a flight of its specialty beer with an assortment of five types of Girl Scout cookies, while supplies last, in a special for the month of March.

It’s their first time introducing the special, according to Old Town Tap House manager Michael Matthews.

Matthews told The Sacramento Bee that the special started March 1 as a “soft open” in-house before sharing it with the public. He said business has been “nice and steady” since holding the pairing special this month.

“People love Girl Scout cookies,” Matthews said. “It just seemed like a good match.”

The featured Girl Scout cookies and beer flight is $16 and includes the five following taste-size beer options:

American Wheat, an American pale wheat beer with 4.5% alcohol by volume, paired with a Caramel deLite.

Dust Bowl Lager, an American light beer with a 4.5% ABV, joined by a Peanut Butter Patty.

Taco Truck Lager, a Mexican beer with a 4.7% ABV, combined with a Lemonade.

Dirty 30’s, an American pale ale beer with a 5.3% ABV, paired with a shortbread Girl Scout cookie.

Nitro Stout, an American stout beer with a 5.6% ABV, enjoyed with a Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie.

The cookies and beer options were pre-selected by one of the brewers and managers at Dust Bowl’s Turlock location, Matthews said.

The Turlock Brewery and Taproom in downtown Turlock is Dust Bowl’s first location, which opened in 2011, according to its website. They’ve since expanded, adding locations in Monterey, Elk Grove and Livermore.

Dust Bowl Brewing Co.’s Old Town Tap Room in Elk Grove, the brewery’s third location, opened in December 2021 at 9676 Railroad Street, just off the tracks south of Elk Grove Boulevard.

Dust Bowl’s Elk Grove location is open 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It’s closed on Tuesdays.
