A Sacramento community dance group is setting up a dance floor in Elk Grove, inviting movers and groovers to take space and keep the party rocking all evening long.

Dance on Edge, a group that brings communities together through the spirit of dance, is hosting its Latin Night Market beginning this Friday, where they will have dance lessons, food and fun for participants and bystanders. The event is from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. at District 56, 8230 Civic Center Drive.

According to the group’s website, they turn outdoor places into beautiful spaces for people to come together to dance.

The group is providing complimentary dance lessons in salsa, bachata, cumbia and merengue. The lessons take place in the first hour of their events.

No previous dance experience is required. Latin Night Market is open to anyone interested in improving their footwork and technique, according to the community group’s website.

There is no need to RSVP; guests can just show up. Attendees are encouraged to bring their families.

“We love seeing parents, children, and grandparents laugh and dance the night away together,” Latin Night Market says on its website. “Bring the puppies too.”

For those not as mobile or who just have two left feet, there will be a vendor market and beer garden for refreshments.

The Latin Night Market event will go from March to November in Elk Grove:

Aug. 30
