REI Co-op to add a fourth location in the Sacramento region. Here’s where

REI Co-op is set to open at an Elk Grove shopping center later this month.

The Seattle-based specialty outdoor retailer recently announced in a news release that a new store will open at the Laguna Gateway shopping plaza at 9145 W Stockton Blvd., just off Highway 99 in Elk Grove, formerly occupied by Bed, Bath and Beyond, which closed in 2023.

REI Co-op offers products for outdoor-related activities including camping, hiking, running, paddling, climbing, cycling, fitness and snow sports. The new store will occupy the 22,127-square-foot building and is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. July 25.

“We look forward to being part of the fabric of the outdoor community in and around Elk Grove, and helping everyone have an active lifestyle,” said Rich Fox, REI Co-op Elk Grove store manager in the news release.

The store also offers a Re/Supply, REI’s used gear business, stocked with gear and apparel, offered at discounted prices. Additionally, inside the retailer is a full-service bike, ski, and snowboard shop with certified mechanics that specialize in tuning and repairing cycling and snow sport equipment.

The news release said the Elk Grove store’s grand opening will be a two-day celebration that will include an outdoor social mixer, music and giveaways, including a $10,000 donation made to nonprofit organization Runnin’ for Rhett.

The Elk Grove location will be the fourth REI store in the Sacramento region. The retailer has stores in Folsom at 2425 Iron Point Road, Roseville at 1148 Galleria Blvd. and Sacramento at 1790 Expo Parkway.

The Elk Grove store will open daily at 10 a.m., the news release states.
