Improvements on Rancho Cordova’s Mather Field Road to finish in June. What it costs

Rancho Cordova news

Improvements to one of the main roads into Rancho Cordova are set to be completed in June.

Mather Field Road, north of the westbound Highway 50 on-ramp, will see upgrades to its infrastructure. Phase one of improvements includes sidewalk widening and ramps compliant with the American Disabilities Act, as well as the resurfacing of the soundwall located along the road. A pergola will also be installed at Croydon Way and the landscape will be enhanced.

The total cost of the project is $1.7 million, according to Maria Kniestedt, a spokesperson for Rancho Cordova.

Money for this project comes from the city’s infrastructure replacement fund as well as the community enhancement and investment fund, which is supplied by Measures H and R, one-half cent local sales tax measures that were approved by voters in 2014 and 2020, respectively.

Construction, which began in March, is expected to be completed in June, according to Kniestedt.
