Man in Auburn arrested after police say he threaten victim at train station
Auburn police arrested a man who allegedly threatened to stab a 58-year-old victim with a knife at the city’s Amtrak station on Friday morning.
Officers arrested Christopher Young, 38, after a “large fixed blade” fell out of one of his pockets after he was asked to show his hands, according to a press release from the department.
Police identified Young as a transient from Roseville. Young’s motives are unclear, police said, but he and the victim had no prior contact before the alleged incident.
Young was booked into the South Placer Jail and faces charges of making criminal threats and brandishing a weapon. Bail was set at $140,000.
Arrest records show that this was the third time Auburn police arrested Young in the past six months.
