Driver killed, another hospitalized after two-vehicle crash in Roseville

One driver was killed and another seriously injured in crash Wednesday afternoon in Roseville, police said.

Two vehicles, each occupied by a driver and no other passengers, collided near South Cirby Way and Old Auburn Road, the Roseville Police Department said in social media posts around 4 p.m.

One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was transported to a hospital with injuries described as “serious,” police wrote.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation, and it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role.

The deceased victim’s identity will be released by the Placer County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
