Bicyclist killed after being hit by car near Interstate 80 in Roseville, police say
A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle near Interstate 80 Tuesday morning in Roseville, authorities said.
A vehicle struck the bicyclist shortly before 5 a.m. on Taylor Road near the I-80 overpass, Roseville Police Department spokesman Rob Baquera said.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Baquera said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Baquera said, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors.
Taylor Road will be closed at the I-80 overpass in both directions for several hours while police investigate, Baquera said, along with the eastbound off-ramp to Taylor Road.
Identification of the victim will be handled by the Placer County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
