Placer County news

A park in Roseville is set for a remodel that includes upgrades to its pickleball and tennis courts.

Woodbridge Park, a 7.2-acre park at 415 Sierra Blvd., is scheduled for renovations, according to city officials.

The Roseville City Council voted Wednesday evening to remodel the courts, which currently feature pickleball striping overlays on two tennis courts.

The base bid of $286,615 includes replacing the foundation slab, installing new striping and equipment, resurfacing the court area with a color coating, upgrading entrances to meet ADA compliance standards, adding new benches and installing a shaded seating area.

City officials said funding for the upgrades comes from the Parks Recreation & Library Capital Projects Fund through the fiscal year 2024-25 budget process.

City records show the project’s plan and specifications were approved in March 2025, authorizing the project to bid.

This first bids resulted in a rejection of all bids, and the staff received an authorization to re-bid in May 2025. The project was re-bid in June and received three proposals.

“After thorough review, it was determined that the two lowest bids received were deemed as unresponsive, while the third bid came in over budget,” the council’s communication packet said about the project. “Therefore, staff received approval at the August 8, 2025, Council Meeting for the rejection of all bids with the plan to re-bid the project in early 2026.”

The project was re-bid in February 2026 with bids opened on March 10, 2026. The bid results included three prospects. The city council awarded Saenz Landscape Construction Company from Rancho Cordova the project.

Pamela Allen, a spokesperson for the city’s Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department, said construction is expected to take about two months, with completion anticipated near the end of summer.
