A motorcyclist died after crashing into a car Saturday evening on Interstate 80 near Davis, authorities said.
A 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading west on I-80 near Mace Boulevard “at a high rate of speed” when it struck the left rear end of a 2007 Honda Civic, the California Highway Patrol’s Woodland office said in a news release.
The motorcyclist, described as a 37-year-old Fairfield man, was ejected by the crash and died at the scene, the CHP said.
The Honda driver, a Davis man, was not injured and remained at the scene until CHP officers arrived.
The crash remains under investigation, and no arrests were made, according to the CHP.
Identification of the victim will be handled by the coroner’s unit of the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office pending notification of family.
