Sacramento is getting its own Monopoly board. You can help decide what landmarks make it
You’ll soon be able to roll a pair of dice and fight your way out of bankruptcy on a Sacramento-themed Monopoly game board.
And the board’s manufacturer, Top Trumps USA, who announced the State Capitol-themed game Thursday afternoon at the Golden 1 Center, wants to hear from you about what the board should look like.
In a traditional game of Monopoly, time is filled with fast-dealing property buying, trading and selling as players compete to build real estate and bankrupt their opponents to win the game, according to the Monopoly website.
And in a Sacramento version licensed under Habsro, the board would be filled with landmarks, businesses, state parks and more locations unique to the city.
To submit your suggestions to the makers of the game, spokesman Michael Babowal said you can email sacramento@toptrumps.com.
“They just want to build some excitement about the fact that it’s coming and get the community to give input on what they think makes Sacramento, Sacramento that should be on the board,” Babowal told The Bee.
But we’d thought it would be fun to talk it out among ourselves, too.
Tell us what you’re thinking. What’s your favorite museum? The state park with the most history? Which park never gets old? The business that’s been around forever? Which Sacramento landmark should unquestionably be featured on the City of Trees-themed Monopoly board — and why? Whatever it is, The Bee wants to know. Tell us in the forum below or email utilityteam@sacbee.com.
