Santa Parade returns to Sacramento’s Capitol Park for 40th year. When, where to watch

Santa Claus is coming to town, ringing in the holiday season as part of Sacramento’s popular Santa Parade.

The 40th annual Santa Parade, hosted by Mix96 and Bonneville Radio, will take place at 10 a.m., Dec. 9 in downtown Sacramento, according to a news release.

What is Santa Parade route in Sacramento?

The route starts at 14th and N streets by Capitol Park and then travels west from N to 10th streets, north from 10th to L streets and east on L.

Who’s in the 2023 holiday parade?

In addition to Santa and Mrs. Claus, parade watchers can expect marching bands, including the Roseville High School Marching Band, as well as youth groups, costumed characters, horses and antique cars, according to the release.

The Painted Ladies equestrians, Guns N’ Hoses Cheerleaders and Forever Dancerettes will also be there.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at garages at 10th and L streets, and 10th and I streets.

There’s also free holiday parking at select street meters in downtown Sacramento.

You can park at those meters on weekdays after 4:30 p.m. and all day on weekends through Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.
