Nominations are open: Who wants to be our Sacramento Area Prom King and Queen?
It’s no secret Sacramento-area high school seniors have missed out on experiences due to the coronavirus pandemic.
We’d like to offer up a new experience: We’re opening up nominations for our first (and hopefully last) Sacramento Area Porch Prom King and Queen. We’ll collect nominations until noon, April 16. Then we’ll select 10 boys and 10 girls for our Royal Court and open up voting to see who will be named Sacramento Area Porch Prom King and Queen.
The winners of the popular vote will have a photo shoot on their front porch with a Sacramento Bee photographer and be the subjects of a story.
The nominations are open to any Sacramento-area high school senior with an interesting story to tell about themselves. We’re looking for kids making a difference both big and small. The kid who quit a team to help take care of a sibling. Someone who started a nonprofit network or is working to raise money during the coronavirus pandemic.
The rules: If you’re under the age of 18, we’ll need a parent to sign off on us including you in our Royal Court. We’ll also need a submitted picture of everybody in the Royal Court. You can only nominate yourself, not someone else. Go to our Google Form to enter and good luck.
The form is at https://forms.gle/FbAn3hAvg1wEpBKq5
