How to visit the Sacramento Zoo’s new animals as coronavirus closure comes to an end

The Sacramento Zoo will reopen Monday with new animals on display as its three month coronavirus closure comes to an end.

Visitors to the zoo will see a new alligator exhibit. Other animals on display for the first time are ostriches Clove and Cinnamon, and a two-year-old giraffe named Amirah.

The experience of visiting the zoo will be different because of new policies intended to slow the spread of coronavirus:

Visitors must purchase timed entry tickets in advance online at saczoo.org

Daily attendance is capped at 1,500 people. Up to 5,000 people visited per day before the shutdown.

Masks are be required for all staff and encouraged for visitors ages 2 and older.

Signs will encourage social distancing.

Some attractions, including the reptile house, are closed.
