Kroger Nationwide Recall Update: Customers Issued Warnings Over Products

Kroger has already issued a series of product recalls in 2026, warning customers across multiple states about potential health and safety risks tied to both food and non‑food items sold in its stores.

The recalls posted through Kroger's official recall alert system span concerns ranging from undeclared allergens and possible Salmonella contamination to physical hazards that could cause injury.

Undeclared Allergen Recalls Raise Health Concerns

Several of Kroger's 2026 recalls stemmed from undeclared allergens, a leading cause of food recalls in the United States.

On January 23, 2026, Kroger issued an allergen‑related recall for Red Bird Farms products sold at King Soopers and City Market stores. According to the notice, the affected items contained undeclared sesame, posing a risk of severe or potentially life‑threatening reactions for customers with sesame allergies.

The products affected include:

  • Marinated Teriyaki French Drumsticks, which carry the UPC 218634 00000 and codes FEB 13 2026 and FEB 14 2026.
  • Marinated Teriyaki Chicken Wings, which carry the UPC 218639 00000 and codes FEB 13 2026 and FEB 14 2026.

Customers with questions are advised to contact Red Bird Farms Retail at 1-800-333-2473, Ext. 7.

Salmonella Risk Prompts Multiple Food Recalls

Concerns over possible Salmonella contamination led to multiple recalls involving Navitas Organics products in January. On January 24, 2026, Kroger said certain Navitas Organics items sold in Texas and Louisiana were being pulled from shelves due to potential contamination.

A similar recall followed on January 26, affecting additional Navitas Organics products sold at Mariano's, Pick 'n Save, and Metro Market locations.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems, according to federal health officials.

Glass Contamination Triggers Widespread Recall

The most expansive Kroger recall of 2026 to date occurred on March 3, when the company alerted customers about products from Ajinomoto Foods North America that may be contaminated with glass particles.

The recall affected items sold across a wide swath of Kroger‑operated stores nationwide, including banners such as Fry's, Ralphs, Smith's, King Soopers, and City Market.

The affected products include Chicken Fried Rice, with UPC 11110-04161, and Vegetable Fried Rice with UPC 11110-04162, which were purchased between March 10, 2025, and March 4, 2026.

Customers have been urged to return the contaminated products to their nearest store for a refund and contact Ajinomoto Foods at (855) 742-5011 with any questions.

Non‑Food Products Also Affected

Kroger's 2026 recalls were not just limited to food items.

On February 27, the company announced a recall of the Weber 12‑inch Three‑Sided Grill Brush, sold at Kroger‑owned stores in more than a dozen states.

The recall was issued after it was discovered that wire bristles could detach from the brush, posing an ingestion hazard if accidentally swallowed.

What Customers Should Do

Kroger has advised customers who purchased any recalled products in 2026 not to consume or use them. Most items can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund.

Customers are also encouraged to monitor Kroger's recall alert page and federal safety notices for updates, as recall classifications and affected regions can change.

Consumers with health concerns or who believe they may have experienced an adverse reaction are urged to contact a medical professional. For the latest information, Kroger directs shoppers to its recall alerts page and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's recall database.
