Exclusive: 'Dutton Ranch' Reveals an Essential New Character

It wouldn't be a new Yellowstone show if there weren't some very big names joining the cast. WhileDutton Ranch is very much the Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) show, they'll be joined by a bunch of new characters, many of whom will be their straight-up enemies. While trying to make their new ranch work in Texas, Beth and Rip will have to deal with the machinations of the scheming Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening) as well as the trigger-happy Rob-Will (Jai Courtney). But not everyone Beth and Rip meet in Dutton Ranch will be their enemy. In fact, one of the biggest names on the show could represent the best friend that our wayward Yellowstone characters can hope for.

Enter Ed Harris as Everett McKinney, a war veteran who works as a veterinarian. In the debut of Dutton Ranch, Beth meets Everett, and instantly, we recognize there's going to be a solid partnership. Men's Journal is pleased to present an exclusive preview clip from Dutton Ranch. Watch below!

As Beth is checking out her new local bar, a loudmouth named Hoyt stops by and starts harassing the bartender. Just then, the unassuming Everett (Harris) tops in, ordering an iced tea to go. He tells the bully cowboy to "sit your ass down" and makes it clear that the man can back down or face the consequences, saying: "I'm giving you a chance to hold on to your pride, Hoyt. Be the better man. You don't get many of those chances in life."

Beth instantly sees that Everett is just the kind of friend she's looking for: Direct, bold, and spicy as hell. For the story of Dutton Ranch, this encounter isn't random, as Everett is destined to become a huge part of the unfolding new saga.

Dutton Ranch Release Date and Streaming

The first two episodes of Dutton Ranch are streaming now on Paramount+. There will be nine episodes in Season 1 in total, and Season 2 has already been confirmed. Here's the release schedule for Season 1:

• May 29: Episode 4: "Start with a Bullet"
