This year, the most nominated artist at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, taking place on Sunday, is none other than 28-year-old songstress Megan Moroney, who rose to fame thanks to tracks like “Tennessee Orange,” which grew in popularity on social media and ultimately led her to a wildly successful career in the country music world. This past year, she released her album Cloud 9, and since then, she’s been riding the wave. Moroney is nominated in seven categories but is up for a total of nine awards, for in certain categories, she’s recognized as more than just the artist. Megan Moroney teamed up with Kenny Chesney on the track “You Had To Be There,” earning them a nod in this category amongst some of country’s biggest names.

Visual Media of the Year

Though the award for Visual Media of the Year was already given to Stephen Wilson Jr. for “Cuckoo,” Megan was nominated for “6 Months Later,” where she was also recognized as a director.

Artist-Songwriter of the Year

Megan Moroney has been earning new fans day after day with her one-of-a-kind voice and honest lyrics, earning her an award for Artist-Songwriter of the Year.
