Megan Moroney Leads ACM Awards With 9 Nominations—See Them All

This year, the most nominated artist at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, taking place on Sunday, is none other than 28-year-old songstress Megan Moroney, who rose to fame thanks to tracks like “Tennessee Orange,” which grew in popularity on social media and ultimately led her to a wildly successful career in the country music world. This past year, she released her album Cloud 9, and since then, she’s been riding the wave. Moroney is nominated in seven categories but is up for a total of nine awards, for in certain categories, she’s recognized as more than just the artist. Here, take a look at the trophies Megan is hoping to take home this year, and root for her when you watch the ACM Awards this Sunday, May 17, on Prime Video at 8 p.m. EST.

Entertainer of the Year

For the first time, Megan Moroney finds herself nominated for Entertainer of the Year. Competing for the same trophy are musicians like Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen, so tune in to see who comes out victorious this year!

Female Artist of the Year

While there’s certainly endless talent when it comes to female country music artists, a few have been dominating the industry over the last few years, and Megan Moroney is one of them. Nominated alongside her are Ella Langley, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert.

Song of the Year

Megan Moroney’s “Am I Okay?” is nominated for Song of the Year, and the fan-favorite track could earn her two awards in this category: one as an artist and one as a songwriter.

Single of the Year

Telling the story of an ex who calls wanting you back after months apart, Megan’s “Six Months Later” is nominated for Single of the Year.

Megan Moroney teamed up with Kenny Chesney on the track “You Had To Be There,” earning them a nod in this category amongst some of country’s biggest names.

Visual Media of the Year

Though the award for Visual Media of the Year was already given to Stephen Wilson Jr. for “Cuckoo,” Megan was nominated for “6 Months Later,” where she was also recognized as a director.

Artist-Songwriter of the Year

Megan Moroney has been earning new fans day after day with her one-of-a-kind voice and honest lyrics, earning her an award for Artist-Songwriter of the Year.
