Is Taylor Swift Really a New York Knicks Fan?

There were plenty of stars on the sidelines for Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The biggest name by far was Taylor Swift.

Sure, there was Ben Stiller and Larry David and Tracy Morgan and Spike Lee and all the other usual suspects, but all eyes were on the biggest singer on the planet. She was also really into the game. Seemingly enthralled by the Knicks' 29-point comeback in the second half, you would think Swift is one of the most loyal fans of the basketball team.

Is Taylor Swift really a Knicks devotee, or was she just trying to get in on the fun of the moment? Let's find out.

Swift's most recent game before this one was just about three weeks ago, when she and fiancé Travis Kelce attended Game 3 of the series between the Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers in Ohio.

Kelce was clearly cheering on the Cavs, but it was unclear who Swift wanted to win. She wasn't wearing either team's attire. Let's go back further.

You have to go back more than a decade to find Swift attending another Knicks home game. She went to a contest between the Knicks and the Bulls in October of 2014 and sat courtside next to one of the team's most famous diehards, the aforementioned Stiller. New York went a putrid 17-65 that season, so she wasn't there for the good basketball or the attention. Perhaps she's more of a fan than we thought? She even showed up to another game that same season just two weeks later.

Swift was in a Knicks mood in 2014. She appeared at a game against the Magic at MSG in November, and she had some fun with Kate Upton, who was almost as famous as she was at the turn of the 2010s.

It's safe to say this wasn't Swift's first go-around with the basketball team. At the same time, four games in 12 years doesn't scream superfan. The songwriter seems to be a casual who didn't want to miss out on the biggest event of the month in the Big Apple. Nothing wrong with that, right?
