New merchants prep openings in downtown San Ramon at Bishop Ranch hub
SAN RAMON - The downtown district of San Ramon is preparing for the openings of new merchants as the mixed-use Bishop Ranch neighborhood attracts more stores and restaurants.
Turkish restaurant Meyhouse, Lululemon, Rico Rico Taco and Lil Sweet Treat are the primary new merchants, along with an expanded Escapology space, according to Sunset Development, the real estate firm that created Bishop Ranch and continues to guide its transformation into a new downtown for San Ramon.
“The demand for best-in-class retail and dining in this market is real, and these new and upcoming openings reflect that,” said Jeff Dodd, senior vice president of retail at Sunset Development.
The new retailers and dining establishments are setting up shop at City Center Bishop Ranch, the neighborhood’s primary restaurant and dining hub.
Meyhouse, a contemporary Turkish dining concept that has locations in Sunnyvale and Palo Alto, has opened at City Center, marking the restaurant’s debut in the East Bay. Meyhouse has leased 5,400 square feet and offers jazz performances along with food and beverages.
Rico Rico Taco, a concept out of Oakland, will offer handmade tortillas and tacos inspired by Mexico City street food. The restaurant has leased 1,500 square feet and is due to open this summer.
Lululemon is planning a one-year pop-up at a former Nike store. The high-profile athletic apparel brand has leased 5,500 square feet.
Lil Sweet Treat is planning a store that will offer sweets sourced from Sweden, Spain, France, Belgium and other locations.
Escapology, which is City Center’s escape room attraction, is expanding by offering a party space totaling 1,400 square feet next to its existing site that totals 4,800 square feet.
The new merchants are expected to be lively additions to downtown San Ramon, according to Sunset Development.
“This group strengthens what City Center offers the community and gives people more reasons to make visiting the center part of their routine,” Dodd said.
