'Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' Reveals New Blade, Loki, Deadpool Gameplay Details
EVO 2026 has come and gone, and one of the very last announcements at the jam-packed fighting game tournament weekend was the final base roster team for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The final team is called the Samurai Outriders, and consists of the previously revealed Ghost Rider and the newly announced characters Blade, Loki, and Deadpool, bringing the base roster total number of characters to 20.
Revealed in a gameplay trailer at EVO, the first gameplay for all three new characters was shown off. As a complement to the trailer, PlayStation Blog has published a new post detailing some of the gameplay details for the new characters.
The team of anti-heroes is led by Ghost Rider, who was playable in the previous beta and is played with long-reaching normals and specials.
Blade, who has never been playable in a fighting game before, makes his debut. According to the blog post, Blade "specializes in an aggressive combat style, skillfully handling a variety of deadly tools including Muramasa, machine guns, and glaives."
His unique skill, called Heartstopper (appropriate for a half-vampire), allows Blade to pin opponents in place.
Loki features ice magic and tricks, similar to many versions of Loki. Loki will also be making his fighting game debut in Tokon. According to the blog post, Loki's combat style "excels at trickery, with many skills incorporating feints and counters using illusions. He also uses projectiles based on ice and magic, combined with clever use of erratic movements to constantly confuse opponents."
He is also detailed as a character who can take advantage of opponents' bad habits, capitalizing on their mistakes.
Finally, Deadpool joins the roster, featuring several moves and references to other Arc System Works titles, like Guilty Gear, and also other fighting games like Mortal Kombat.
Deadpool is being described as a high-risk, high-reward character that uses his own health to deal damage. "Deadpool's combat style reflects his reckless nature, enabled by his powerful healing factor. He uses guns, grenades, and swords, along with high-risk techniques that involve taking damage himself," reads the blog post.
An open beta has also been announced for the game for both PlayStation 5 and PC and will take place from July 24 to July 26. Blade will be an additional playable character for the beta.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls releases on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC.
