24th annual Mountain Mandarin Festival

Where: Gold Country Fairgrounds, 1273 High St., Auburn,

When: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 and 19

Find all things mandarin orange at this huge celebration of local citrus. About 20 growers will sell fresh fruit. More than 200 vendors offer a mind-boggling assortment of mandarin-infused items from chocolate-dipped orange slices to citrus-scented lotions. Enjoy contests, music and family fun, too.

Tour: Fall Color in the Rose Garden

Where: Historic City Cemetery, 1000 Broadway, Sacramento

Billed as the largest indoor arts and crafts show on the West Coast, this gigantic pre-holiday marketplace features more than 24,000 unique and handmade items.

40th annual River City Quilt Show

Where: Scottish Rite Temple, 6151 H St., Sacramento

When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 and 19

Admission: $10; children age 12 and younger admitted free

Presented by the River City Quilters’ Guild, this large show features hundreds of quilts. Featured artist will be Carol Smith, a charter member of this guild. Also, find a trove of fabric and supplies.
