Eighth annual Homes for the Holidays tour

Where: Start at William Brooks Elementary School, 3610 Park Drive, El Dorado Hills.

This popular tour features six spectacularly decorated homes while supporting efforts of the Assistance League of Sierra Foothills. In addition, enjoy a free holiday boutique at Brooks School and a huge raffle of designer Christmas trees, 100-bottle instant wine collection and an Oregon getaway.

DIY wreath workshop

When: 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9

Learn how to make and decorate a wreath with foliage from your own backyard. Bring in your greenery or use the 24-inch evergreen base provided. Find secrets to creating bows and other trimmings, then take home your results. Tools provided; bring your own work apron.

Holiday terrarium workshop

When: Noon, Saturday, Dec. 9
