Bonsai show celebrates spring with miniature forest

59th annual Spring Bonsai Show
- Where: Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento
- When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 14 and 15

- Highlights: See dozens of little trees in pots in this large show, hosted by the American Bonsai Association, Sacramento. Bonsai master Peter Tea will demonstrate techniques at 1:30 p.m. each day. Beginners' course offered from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday. Vendors offer for sale interesting pots, trees, soil and tools to make your own bonsai.
