Pro: This inexpensive vacuum packs a lot of power at a bargain price. It’s particularly effective picking up pet hair. As its name implies, it moves smoothly from carpet to tile to hardwood without losing sunction. Relatively lightweight at 15 pounds, this upright really picks up the dirt.

Con: Emptying the flip-bottom dust cup can be a little messy. The cord is 32 feet, which limits the vacuum’s range.
