Brian Witherell, well-known to fans of “Antiques Road Show,” will conduct his first estate auction live in the Witherell’s Sacramento warehouse. Among the items up for bid are furniture (including several pieces of mid-century modern), silver, jewelry, Asian art, paintings and decor items from estates in the Sacramento region. Most items in the sale were valued at $1,000 or less.

When: Weekly curbside pick-up through Jan. 31

City of Sacramento residential yard waste customers can place Christmas trees and other holiday greenery on the curb as part of leaf season pick-up.

Where: Sacramento Recycling and Transfer Station, 8491 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento
When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, through Jan. 31

The transfer station will accept trees without any ornaments, tinsel, lights, stand or nails. Trees will be mulched and kept out of the landfill.
