Cemetery Open Gardens Day

Where: Historic City Cemetery, 1000 Broadway, Sacramento

Come see the Historic City Cemetery’s famous rose garden, Hamilton Square perennial garden and the California Native Plant Society’s garden at their height of spring bloom. Besides free guided tours, this special day includes a silent auction of rare rose bushes and public sale of roses propagated from the cemetery collection.

The American Bonsai Association of Sacramento hosts its annual show featuring dozens of “little trees” plus much more. Vendors offer pots, supplies and plants. Get expert advice, too. Bonsai master Peter Tea will present demonstrations at 1:30 p.m. each day. Novices can sign up for a beginning bonsai class ($10) set for 10 a.m. Sunday.
