Sacramento Bonsai Club celebrates 70th birthday with show, sale

70th annual Sacramento Bonsai Club Show

Where: Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento

When: Noon-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, May 7 and 8

See scores of little trees, meticulously groomed and trained into living mini-masterpieces. This event also features many vendors with trees, pots and supplies. Bonsai artist Sam Adina will demonstrate techniques at 2 p.m. each day.

24th annual AAUW garden tour

Where: Start at Wilbur Avenue and C Street, Yuba City; after 12:30 p.m., start at The Crave, 454 Bridge St., Yuba City.

With its “Art in the Gardens” theme, this popular tour features Yuba City’s Harkey House bed and breakfast inn plus five private gardens in the Yuba-Sutter area. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. Proceeds benefit programs for young women sponsored by the Marysville/Yuba City branch of American Association of University Women.
